The ISRT Deep Subsea Operations Team has extensive experience in body/human remains search & recovery operations in deep complex maritime environments (100m+).

Our team is internationally deployable on request of governmental organizations and works according to instructions of the involved authorities.

  • Evander K.Broekman (NL)

    As the founder and team leader, Evander has many years of experience in the field.

    He is an Expert in complex search & recoveries of missing persons, and has 58 operations involving aircraft crashes. His qualifications include disaster victim identification investigator DVI (Interpol protocols courses) and more.

  • Darko Kovačević (ME)

    Darko Kovačević is a maritime archaeologist with a rich background in digital documentation, remote sensing, GIS, geomatics, and underwater excavations. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s in History from the University of Novi Sad, Serbia and Master`s degree in Maritime and Underwater Archaeology from the University of Alexandria, Egypt. He specializes in Geomatics and is a SCUBA diving instructor and technical diver.

    As the lead archaeologist for the International Search and Recovery Team, Darko is devoted to contributing his expertise to the organization.

  • Luca Belladonna (IT)

    ISRT Supervisor Deep subsea operations

    Instructor SAR/Defence organizations. Expert in complex safety, deco and deep diving techniques, complex operations in river, cave and mountain rescues. Instructor Emergency first response. Helicopter Medical emergencies.

  • Martin Robson (UK)

    Teamlead Deep Operations

    Martin Robson, a former Royal Marine Commando, began diving with the military in his late teens. He is now one of the best qualified Tec Diving Instructor Trainers in the world, teaching courses with PADI, IANTD and both of the major Cave Diver training agencies, NACD and NSS-CDS.

    As well as cave diver and rebreather training, Martin is a consultant for the new PADI Rebreather and Sidemount courses and is currently conducting Instructor and Instructor Trainer courses to launch these new PADI rebreather programmes. He is also a co-author of the PADI Rebreather and Tec CCR manuals

    Martin has worked for the UNESCO Maritime Archaeology Department recovering artefacts from un-dived wrecks as deep as 180m that are too delicate for recovery by ROV. A significant number of deep expedition dives in excess of 150m. Multiple dives deeper than 200+m.

  • Silvia Recuero Herreros (ES)

    Maritime Archaeologist. ISRT deep subsea operations.

    Silvia is specialized in subaquatic and forensic archaeology. Due to the large number of remains submerged at great depths and in complex environments, she became trained in deco and deep diving techniques, as well as cave diving. She has worked in multiple international archaeological operations both terrestrial and underwater.

    With an additional training in speleology, she has participated in several cave explorations and surveying projects, assisting also as a volunteer in the Speleology Rescue Team of Madrid.
